I am often asked what my clients can do to help keep their computers
safe from worms, and virus'. Since this is not my field of
expertise, I can only tell them what works for me. I tell them what
I do with the results I have had.So here it is - I never open
email attachments from someone I do not know. If someone sends me an
attachment that is unusual, and is not expected. I do not open it. I
send the person and email to confirm that they sent it to me. Over
the years about 7 of our clients had a worm on their machine, that
sent us a virus in an email. We have NEVER been effected, by a virus
at Websites & More. How is this possible - Well we protect our
network and computers with intelligence. By that I mean anti-virus
software, and AdWare/SpyWare removal software - and we actually use
it.
Once a month we do a full scale scan of all computers, since we
use computer common sense and do not open unwanted attachments, the
risk of getting a virus is very low. The products that we recommend
are AVG Virus
and
Spybot Search & Destroy. If you are a local client we would be
happy to purchase and come to your establishment and install these
programs for you. If you are a client that is not with a 50-mile
range of the office you can purchase these online and install them
yourself. We will help you over the phone if you have any questions.
